Salsa / Leading & Following Level 1

Salsa Leading and Following – 4-Week Course

This 4-week salsa course is specifically designed to improve your leading and following skills, a crucial aspect of partner dancing. Ideal for dancers at the intermediate to advanced level, this course will help you build a deeper understanding of the connection between partners and refine your technique to create smoother, more dynamic dances.

Throughout the course, we will focus on the fundamentals of clear communication between partners. Leaders will learn how to initiate movements with clarity and confidence, while followers will develop sensitivity to subtle cues, allowing for seamless transitions and a stronger connection. We’ll cover advanced techniques for both leading and following, including body control, frame, and creating resistance and tension that enhances the overall dancing experience.

In addition, we’ll work on timing and musicality, ensuring both leaders and followers can interpret the music and move in harmony with each other. You'll practice partner combinations and drills that emphasize the flow of energy between partners, improving fluidity and responsiveness in social dancing.

By the end of this 4-week course, you will have a much greater command of your role as a leader or follower, with enhanced confidence in your partner work. Repeating the cycle is encouraged to further solidify your connection and finesse on the dance floor.
