Salsa Musicality /All Levels

Musicality is what separates dancers who move to the beat from dancers who move with the music — and this class is dedicated entirely to developing that connection.

Open to all levels, this course is designed to help you truly listen to salsa music and respond to it with intention. Whether you're a beginner learning to identify the clave or an experienced dancer looking to sharpen your artistry, you'll leave with a deeper relationship between your ears and your feet.

We'll break down the structure of salsa music — the clave, the montuno, the breaks, the solos — and teach you how to recognize and respond to each element in real time on the dance floor. You'll explore how to accent pauses, play with timing, style your movement to match the energy of the song, and make deliberate choices about when to shine and when to hold back.

This isn't just about counting beats. It's about feeling the music and letting it guide your body naturally.

By the end of this course, you'll have a stronger ear for salsa, more confidence improvising on the social floor, and the tools to make every dance feel like a conversation with the music — not just a performance of steps.

We highly suggest two cycles to fully internalize these concepts and begin applying them instinctively.
