Where It Started

New York Roots. A Name With Meaning.

Santo Rico Dance began in New York in 1995. Half of the founding members came from Santo Domingo and half from Puerto Rico, creating the name “Santo Rico.” What followed became one of the most recognizable teaching and performance legacies in Salsa On2.

The goal was never just choreography. The system emphasized foundations, body movement, musicality, partner work, and the details that help dancers understand why the movement works.

Director • Tomas Guerrero

A Major Influence On Modern Mambo.

Tomas Guerrero is the director of the legendary Santo Rico dance company and one of the artists who helped shape the style of Mambo dancing seen today. Coming from a street-dance background, he brought innovation, structure, and a distinct technical point of view to Salsa On2.

Under his direction, Santo Rico became a training platform and inspiration for dancers, performers, instructors, directors, and dance companies throughout New York and around the world.
